Built in my practice, for yours

I’m Carey Webb. I’m a counsellor with my own private practice, Therapy Care, and I built SyncDiary to run it. Now it’s ready for yours.

My practice

I’m a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), membership number 403050. I trained in therapeutic counselling to Level 4, finishing in September 2022, and went on to a Level 5 Certificate in CBT with CPCAB in September 2023. I’ve been in practice since 2022, and I see clients in person and online.

Why I built it

Running a practice on my own meant running several things at once. My diary was in Outlook, my money was in a spreadsheet, and my notes were somewhere else again — and none of them knew about the others.

The month end was where it showed. I’d sit piecing it all back together: who had paid and who still owed me, what I owed for the rooms I’d used, and how much to put aside for tax. It took hours, and I was never quite sure I’d got it right.

I looked at the systems already out there. Most wanted me to move my diary into them and leave behind the calendar on my phone, which my whole working week already lived in. And none of them did the sums a sole trader actually has to do.

So I built my own. It kept my calendar where it was, and put my clients, my notes and my money around it.

I use it every day

I run my own practice on SyncDiary every day — my bookings, my notes, my month end. So when something’s awkward or slow, I’m usually the first to find out, and the first to want it fixed.

Built with other therapists

It isn’t shaped by my practice alone. A small group of counsellors and psychotherapists — our Founder Members — use it in theirs, tell me what works and what doesn’t, and help decide what comes next.

A small, independent business

SyncDiary is a small business: it’s me, trading as Sync Diary, registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office. I’ve been building it for over a year, and it has no investors, so the only people it answers to are the therapists who use it.

That shapes what happens to your data. It’s stored in London and encrypted, and your clients’ records are never sold, never used for advertising and never used to train AI.
