If you’ve qualified as a counsellor or psychotherapist in the last 12 months, SyncDiary costs nothing for your first year. Every feature, and no card needed — one less cost while you build your practice.
Who it’s for
- You qualified as a counsellor or psychotherapist in the last 12 months.
- You’re a member of a professional body — BACP, UKCP, NCPS, BABCP, BPC, BPS, HCPC, ACC, COSCA, or another.
- One free year per practitioner.
How it works
Sign up and set up your practice. Connect your Outlook or Google Calendar and add your locations and rates. Your 60-day free trial starts straight away.
Apply from Settings → Subscription. Tell us your professional body, your membership number and the date you qualified. It takes a minute.
We check your membership with your professional body — usually within two working days — and your trial carries on meanwhile.
Your free year counts from the day you joined. It runs to 12 months after you set up SyncDiary, so time spent waiting for approval doesn’t come off it.
Everything included
The free year is the whole of SyncDiary — exactly what paying practices have:
- Your diary, in step with Outlook or Google Calendar
- Client records, with session history and where each client is in their journey with you
- Session notes, encrypted
- Payments — who has paid and who owes what
- Financials, with what to set aside for income tax and National Insurance
- End of Month statements, with a room rent report for your landlord
- Your wait list
- Message templates — copy them, send them by WhatsApp, or email them from your own address
- Help from inside SyncDiary
When your free year ends
- We email you 60, 30 and 7 days before it ends, and a countdown shows in SyncDiary for the last 60 days.
- Add your payment details whenever you like — nothing is taken until your free year ends.
- After that it’s the standard price: £25 a month, or £250 a year.
- If you decide not to carry on, your account locks a week after the free year ends. Your diary and records stay safe, and you can export everything at any time.

- I qualified more than 12 months ago. Can I still try it?
- Yes — everyone gets a 60-day free trial, with no card needed to start.
- Do I need a card to apply?
- No. There’s no card to add until your free year ends.
- What if my application isn’t approved?
- Your trial carries on as normal. We’ll tell you why, and you can apply again — with a corrected membership number, say.
- Can I have more than one free year?
- No — it’s once per practitioner. Each membership number can be used for one free year.
- I’m already paying. Can I switch?
- Get in touch and we’ll look at it with you.
- I’m still in training.
- We’re working on something for trainee counsellors and psychotherapists — get in touch to hear when it’s ready.
- Is my clients’ information safe?
- Session notes are encrypted, and your data is stored in London.
